The Dual Language Learners Program Assessment (DLLPA) helps Head Start, child care, and pre-K programs ensure the full and effective participation of children who are DLLs and their families. It outlines strategies for a coordinated approach across management systems and program services.

The second webinar in the series focuses on the Education and Child Development Services section of the DLLPA. It includes Teaching and the Learning Environment; Curricula; and Child Screenings and Assessments. Discover how programs can use these DLLPA sections to assess their existing systems and services. We will also talk about available resources, including a Planned Language Approach (PLA), that can help you address needs identified in your DLLPA self-assessment.

Topics for the webinar include:

  • Exploring the Education and Child Development Services section of the DLLPA and how it can be used to examine existing systems and services
  • Considering how the PLA can support a coordinated approach to integrating culturally and linguistically responsive practices
  • Learning to implement responsive care, effective teaching, and an organized learning environment for children who are DLLs
