Many families participating in Head Start and Early Head Start programs are affected by domestic violence. Children may experience this violence themselves. Even if they are not physically injured, the exposure to these traumatic events can cause social, emotional and behavioral difficulties, and manifest in physical symptoms, resulting in difficulty learning for some children. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about prevention and response to domestic violence.

Training Topic Include:

  • Impact of violence and trauma on the health and well-being of children, families, and communities
  • Strategies that support a trauma-informed workplace, with emphasis on staff well-being
  • Best practices to build and strengthen partnerships with parents, domestic violence programs, programs for people who use violence, and other community stakeholders

Target Audience:

Family Services Staff, HS/EHS Directors, Managers, Board & PC Members, and Teaching Staff
