National Native American Heritage Month—Celebrating School Readiness in Tribal Early Childhood Programs Across the United States

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is pleased to announce a webinar focused on tribes’ school readiness efforts. This webinar will celebrate National Native American Heritage Month by highlighting steps taken by tribes in their work to support children and families for success in school and beyond. The webinar will also include information about national-, regional-, and state-level support, research, and resources to strengthen efforts by American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) early childhood (EC) programs as they implement culturally responsive school readiness strategies in their tribal communities.

 

This webinar is a collaborative effort among the following ACF partners:

· Early Childhood Training and Technical Assistance System

· Administration for Native Americans

· Tribal Early Childhood Research Center

· National AI/AN Head Start Collaboration Office

· Region XI Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) Network

· Overview of school readiness in tribal EC programs

· Research and resources to strengthen EC school readiness approaches

· Setting the context for successful school readiness efforts in early care and education
