ds of their children, families, and staff.
Why is this important? Mental health consultation is an essential strategy for improvin
g the mental well-being of the children, families, and staff in Head Start
programs everywhere. Head Start programs are required to secure consistent
and sufficient access to mental health consultation services for children a
nd families but many times, the growing need outweighs access to high-quali
ty mental health services. Head Start programs across the country are disco
vering innovative ways to meet the unique needs of their individual communi
ties.
