  1. A program visit is one of the most powerful ways to illustrate the value of Head Start in your community.  Guiding elected officials through your classrooms is an impactful opportunity to show the unique, innovative, and high-quality services Head Start provides. Congressional members will return to their districts in August for five weeks. What an excellent opportunity for Head Start programs to connect with their lawmakers by inviting them to visit their programs. Check out our advocacy resources webpage to get started, and if you need assistance, don't hesitate to contact FHSA at (850) 694-6477 or email [email protected]

  2. Let FHSA feature your exceptional team members by submitting a #ThankfulThursday. A little recognition goes a long way.   We want to recognize members weekly through social media and elevate Head Start's voice. We invite you to fill out this form weekly so we can give everyone the recognition they deserve.

  3. Using the 5Rs to Be a Champion for Coaches Tuesday, August 15, 2023 @ 3:00 PM ET, Join the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning to discuss how education managers can use the 5Rs (Responsive Relationships, Reason, Resources, Reflective Dialogue, and Recognition) to identify and plan professional development for coaches and maximize resource use that supports coaching implementation.

Please visit our WYNTK resource webpage, which is updated regularly, and the FHSA events list for more information. If there is something else you need guidance on, let us know - we will continue to work with state agencies and partners to answer your questions.

Sincerely,

Wanda Minick
