1. ICYMI: NHSA Eligibility Recommended Changes to the Head Start Actwebinar that aired Tuesday, July 27 @ 3:00 p.m. Access the recording here and explore the slides and recommendations here.

  2. NHSA Congressional Update: The Status of Appropriations, Last month the House Appropriations Committee passed their Labor-HHS-Education and Related Agencies bill, outlining their spending proposal for the fiscal year 2022. The bill includes a record level of funding for Head Start—$12.2 billion. This funding meaningfully addresses long-standing priorities for Head Start, including workforce sustainment, Quality Improvement Funding for trauma-informed care, and extended duration. We can expect to see the Senate FY22 proposal in the coming weeks.

  3. TedTalk: How every child can thrive by five. This is an awesome TedTalk with a seven-year-old breaking down the research-backed ways parents and caregivers can support children's healthy brain development.
