It may be difficult for children with histories of middle ear disorders causing pain, developmental delays, or other special needs to cooperate at first. Find out how the very factors that cause children to be difficult to screen may also put them at higher risk for permanent hearing loss. Learn how screeners can prepare to diversify their techniques to help children better cooperate or refer children to a pediatric audiologist who can complete the screening.
