The Future Call: Conversations on Florida’s Early Learning Future

This is a community call for Floridians interested in supporting our youngest learners and the adults who help them thrive. It’s an opportunity to share successes and best practices aligned to the recommendations in Florida’s Early Learning Roadmap, and to collaborate for continued progress.

Experience can be a great teacher. That’s why the Florida Legislature tasked the Division of Early Learning with creating an “informal pathway” for early learning teachers to align with higher education pathways for advancement. Next week we’ll hear from Dr. Herman Knopf, senior research scientist at the Anita Zucker Center at UF, who is assisting with this work and collaborating closely with the field. He can speak more to how the informal pathway will recognize on-the-job training and experience teachers have gained.
