In this session, two states with different approaches will share their payment practices. They will discuss their policies and key considerations in the shift to delink payments from children’s occasional absences, including budget, technology, program integrity, and communications with stakeholders. The audience will participate in a discussion to share and learn from each other.

This session will be facilitated by Office of Child Care (OCC) National Center on Subsidy Innovation and Accountability technical assistance (TA) specialists. CCDF program administrators are encouraged to extend the invitation to staff members who are directly involved in writing and implementing the policies and procedures for the session topic. This process will ensure that information is going directly to the staff members who will benefit most from the exchange of ideas.

More About CCDF Peer-Learning Sessions

  • Peer-learning sessions provide an opportunity for Lead Agency staff members to share their experiences, concerns, and best practices with staff members from other Lead Agencies. Sessions focus on CCDF subsidy policy and procedure areas that come up frequently in TA requests. The goals of the peer-learning sessions are to do the following:
  • Promote dialogue and collaboration so that Lead Agency personnel can learn from colleagues grappling with similar issues and challenges.
  • Help CCDF program staff members learn how those from other Lead Agencies are implementing various rules and policies, undertaking planning efforts, and handling obstacles and challenges.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Brainstorm and strategize possible approaches to overcoming shared issues and challenges.
