House Passes FY26 Funding Package with $85 Million Increase for Head Start

Tallahassee, FL -The House of Representatives voted 341-88  to approve a bipartisan FY26 appropriations “minibus” that includes an $85 million increase for Head Start, marking a significant step toward finalizing federal early learning funding and avoiding a government shutdown.  

The package maintains strong support for Head Start and Early Head Start programs following a year of intense advocacy and public engagement from early childhood leaders, families, and providers nationwide.

The Senate is expected to consider the legislation next week.
