This year's keynote speaker is a Head Start alum who is now a best-selling author, motivational speaker, and film producer, sharing his powerful message of overcoming adversity to inspire others to chase their dreams. 

Featured Keynote Speaker

Freddie Stevenson, Head Start alum, is a bestselling author, motivational speaker, film producer, and former football fullback. From 2013 to 2016, Freddie made his name playing football at Florida State University, where he also won a National Championship. After college, Freddie signed with the Chicago Bears in 2017. After his career was cut short, he transitioned to life as an entrepreneur. Freddie has since launched a clothing line, written a bestselling book titled Trials to Triumph (2021), and recently released a documentary film, also titled Trials to Triumph (2023). Freddie's documentary follows his journey from being homeless to making it to the NFL, before having to reinvent himself after his playing career came to an abrupt end. He now shares his powerful message of overcoming adversity to inspire others to chase their dreams. 

 

This year's conference is a valuable opportunity for Florida Head Start, Early Head Start, Migrant and Seasonal Head Start, and Early Head Start—Child Care Partnerships Grantee Agencies CEOs, Directors, Site Managers, front-line staff, Center Coordinators, Teachers, Policy Council Members, Corporate Friends, and individual Friends to come to together and network with their colleagues in the state. Our conference will provide high-quality educational sessions and plenty of opportunities to engage in various in-depth educational sessions focusing on numerous subjects of interest to our community.

Conference Venue 

The FHSA 2024 Annual Conference & Expo will be at the DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando. As a Universal Orlando Partner Hotel, it is a short walk from Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Island of Adventure, Universal’s Volcano Bay, the Orlando International Premium Outlets, and the Mall at Millenia are also within two miles.

FHSA has secured a room block that is open and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The room block expires on Tuesday, November 19, 2024,  or until it reaches capacity. The FHSA conference rate is offered three (3) days before and after the conference. The Group Discounted Rate is from $159 /per night++.
