As we continue to raise awareness during National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the National Center on Parent, Family, and Community Engagement has created resources to help Head Start and Early Head Start program staff to learn about how to serve and support families experiencing domestic violence where child maltreatment may also be a concern, and if necessary, how to file a child abuse report safely.

The Conversation Guide for Professionals on Substance Use, Children, and Families: Virtual Training Friday, April 28, 2023, @ 11:00 AM ET, join the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health has partnered with Illuminate Colorado to bring the Conversation Guide for Professionals on Substance Use, Children, and Families to Head Start staff. This four-hour training focuses on talking with families about substance use, safe storage of substances, safe and engaged caregiving, and protective factors that promote child and family well-being. It also provides free materials to supplement the training and share with other program staff.
