  1. Florida is no stranger to natural disasters. Last week wildfires erupted on the Hawaiian island of Maui, making it the deadliest natural disaster in Hawaii since it became a state in 1959. Check out this Head Start Environmental Exposure Mapping Tool created with staff from Head Start and the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, as well as experts in child health, child well-being, and environmental and climate risks to support Head Start and other child health, early education, and social services providers in reducing the exposures children face.   3. Trauma-informed Strategies for Head Start Programs webinar on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, @ 1:00 PM ET. Join the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety for a brief introduction to trauma-informed care and its benefits in early childhood programs. The webinar will also provide information on a training opportunity the Center for Childhood Resilience at Lurie Children’s Hospital is offering for center directors and coaches of classroom teachers.
