Here's what you need to know

  1. Help Us Amplify Head Start’s Voice—Share This Letter with Your Community Partners. We’re calling on community organizations, businesses, and leaders who believe in Head Start’s mission to take a stand. We’re asking Head Start programs to forward this message to the organizations, businesses, and leaders in your community who believe in your work and want to see it thrive. This national sign-on letter urges Congress to invest in Head Start’s future—through strong funding, staff cost-of-living adjustments, and flexibility to meet urgent local needs. It honors 60 years of impact and positions Head Start as both a launchpad for children and a lifeline for working families. Deadline Friday, September 5, 2025

  2. Calling All Directors: Your Voice Is Needed! The President’s FY26 Budget proposes flat funding for Head Start—same dollars as FY25, with no adjustment for inflation. We’re asking Head Start and Early Head Start directors to take this survey and share how your program may need to adapt. Your insights will drive our advocacy and help protect services for children and families.

  3. Call for Posters: First 1000 Days Florida Showcase. Head Start leaders—your work belongs in the spotlight! Submit a poster for the First 1000 Days Florida Showcase. This year’s theme, “Centering Maternal Mental Health Across the First 1000 Days,” invites powerful stories and data from across our field. We especially encourage submissions from Head Start and Early Head Start programs that advance maternal and child health, early education, and resilience. Deadline Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
