  1. HHS announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) regarding kinship foster care. Proposed to allow states to create a second category of foster care children to qualify for kinship care under Title IV E. NHSA is currently working on comments and recommendations to enable these children to become categorically eligible for Head Start services. 

  2. A Coordinated Approach to Engaging Families of Children with Disabilities, explore these resources that support family services providers, home visitors, and Head Start staff who partner with other professionals to support the learning and development of children with disabilities and their families’ well-being.   3. Child Nutrition Programs Proposed Rule: Revisions to the CACFP & SFSP Meal Patterns, Join the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) webinar hosted in collaboration with NHSA and national partners. The USDA will provide an overview of the proposed rule Child Nutrition Programs: Revisions to Meal Patterns to be Consistent with the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and its impact to operators of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).
