Here's what you need to know

  1. Florida’s 11,000+ Head Start and Early Head Start staff show up for children every day — now it’s time to show up for them.  The FHSA Awards nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, June 12, giving programs one more chance to recognize the people who make our mission possible. Lift up someone who inspires your program. Nominate here.

  2. Federal Update: FY27 Funding Bill Released. The House Labor/HHS Appropriations Subcommittee released its draft FY27 funding bill this morning, proposing a $10 million increase for Head Start. While modest, this keeps Head Start in a strong position as negotiations continue. The Subcommittee will mark up the bill tomorrow, with full committee action set for Tuesday, June 9. Stay tuned for more details.

  3. Is your program listed in My Florida Schools?  This statewide initiative helps families explore early learning programs—and several Head Start sites are currently missing. Download these instructions to verify your program’s presence and complete your provider profile to maximize visibility and family engagement.

Please visit our WYNTK resource webpage, for archived WYNTK and FHSA events for more information. If there is something else you need guidance on, let us know - we are happy to connect with you and learn how FHSA can serve you better.
