Here's what you need to know

  1. Final days to submit! Proposals for the FHSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo are due May 11.  FHSA is inviting knowledgeable, engaging presenters who can offer practical tools, innovative approaches, and meaningful solutions for Florida’s Head Start and Early Head Start community.   If you have expertise that can move our community forward, now is the time to share it.

  2. Hurricane Preparedness Week runs May 3–9, 2026. Take a moment now to double‑check your emergency plans, confirm communication tools and staff roles, and make sure your program is fully prepared long before a storm forms. FHSA has curated a list of helpfulhurricane readiness links worth bookmarking to support your preparation.

  3. As we honor all the Teacher's this week, National University is offering Head Start educators a limited‑time 20% tuition reduction on credential, associate, bachelor’s, and master’s programs, with flexible online and hybrid options. With accelerated 4-, 8-, and 12‑week courses, this is a great moment to invest in your education and advance your career.

Please visit our WYNTK resource webpage, for archived WYNTK and FHSA events for more information. If there is something else you need guidance on, let us know - we are happy to connect with you and learn how FHSA can serve you better.

Sincerely,

Wanda Minick
