  1. Florida's 2024 Annual Legislative Session begins on January 9, 2024, and legislative committee weeks started in October. We happily report that the Florida Alliance of Children's Councils & Trusts weekly Capitol Connection is back. This update provides information on all proposed legislation related to children, youth, and families in Florida. 

  2. The Children's Equity Project, in partnership with the Equity Research Action Coalition and the Center on the Ecology of Early Development (CEED), released a report, "The Next Generation of Head Start," focused on strategies to expand access, improve quality, and advance equity in Head Start.   3. CCHC Quarterly Webinar Series: Reducing Environmental Health Hazards in Early Childhood Settings on Thursday, November 09, 2023 @ 1:00 PM, ET. Join the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety webinar, which offers information about significant environmental health issues and best practices in keeping settings safe and free from environmental health hazards. This webinar is targeted at Head Start and Early Head Start health services staff members and other service area managers and child care directors.
