Here's what you need to know

 

  1. ICYMI: FHSA submitted its official statewide comments on the NPRM, “Reducing Federal Burden for Head Start Programs” (RIN 0970‑AD30) on Friday, October 2, joining over 40,000 comments submitted nationally in response to the proposed rule. More than 30 Florida leaders also met with congressional offices in Washington, D.C. last week to reinforce our concerns over the serious implications the proposed rule poses for Florida’s Head Start community.   2. The Head Start Collaboration Office will host the Disability Workgroup Kickoff Meeting on Tuesday, October 13, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. ET via Microsoft Teams. Facilitated by HSCO Director, Kimberly Singer, Dr. Rosally Bisbal, and Shawne Roberts, this workgroup welcomes all disability services staff and any directors who wish to join. Register Here to participate.

  3. Join the Department of Education Division of Early Learning for their upcoming Rule Workshop for Rule 6M‑8.610, VPK Director Credential for Private Providers on Wednesday, October 14, from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET. This workshop addresses a technical update to handbook references with no changes to existing credential requirements. Click here to register and access rule materials in advance.
