- Federal Update: Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) elected has the next speaker by the full House on a first vote. Possible Government Shutdown - Continuing Resolution ends on November 17. The House has proposed a 5% cut to Head Start Funding. The Senate has proposed about a $275 million increase to Head Start funding. NHSA is hopeful for flat funding or the higher number.
