  1. Federal Update: Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) elected has the next speaker by the full House on a first vote. Possible Government Shutdown - Continuing Resolution ends on November 17.  The House has proposed a 5% cut to Head Start Funding. The Senate has proposed about a $275 million increase to Head Start funding. NHSA is hopeful for flat funding or the higher number.

  2. ICYMI: Learn how the new National Early Care and Education Workforce Center will boost the compensation, career advancement opportunities, and working conditions for early educators. Katie Hamm joined Leah J.E. Austin, Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment and Steering Committee Chair for the National Early Care and Education Workforce Center, to discuss the impact and support that the early care and education workforce will receive from the new center.

  3. Join the Discovery Source for their upcoming webinar on Supportive Environments on Wednesday, November 08, 2023 @ 3:30 PM ET. The Discovery Source will introduce solutions for challenging behaviors. Learn strategies that can be used to help children build positive relationships with routines, activities, rules, and expectations that promote engagement.
